SAM AKINA - Writer, Director, Producer, Editor
Sam is an award winning writer, director and editor. He graduated in 2003 with an AAS in Film and Video Communications. In 2005 he wrote and directed the cult feature film Bullets, Blood & a Fistful of Ca$h which was subsequently released into over 30 countries. As a director he has worked domestically and internationally to produce engaging commercial spots for clients such as Dell, Adidas, Tekk, Microsoft, Intel, Thomson Reuters, Polish Telecom and more. His commercials have won numerous awards including one Webby Award, six Telly Awards and two Webby Honorees . He has also written and directed various music videos that have aired in rotation on MTV, VH1 and CMT. As a feature film writer, he co-wrote the romantic comedy Letters To Santa (Listy do. M) in 2010 - one of the highest grossing Polish films of all time. In 2013 he wrote A World Without Thieves for producer Duncan Kenworthy (Love Actually, Notting Hill), director Xiaogang Feng and Toledo Productions. Recently, he co-wrote Planet Single (Planeta Singli) for Gigant Films with fellow Attackships creative Jules Jones, directed by Mitja Okorn. Planet Single was the highest grossing Polish film of 2016 and won numerous awards at various festivals including the audience award at CinEast. Sam is currently co-writing the sequels (Planet Single 2 & 3) which will shoot back to back in Poland in 2018.
JULES JONES - Producer, Writer, Creative Consultant
Jules Jones graduated with Honors from Wesleyan University in 2003. She is a collaborative producer who has been working in film and video production in both Los Angeles and Seattle for almost a decade. In addition to nuts-and-bolts producing, her areas of interest in the production office have been in fundraising and product placement/corporate sponsorship. She has produced numerous commercial projects around the world for clients such as Dell Inc, music videos for Tim McGraw and Def Leppard, several feature films with stars such as Haley Joel Osment and Olympia Dukakis, reality tv programming, and various documentary projects. Jules is a former All Star Banked Track Roller Derby skater and she is the bassist, keyboardist and co-vocalist of the dreampop band Ephrata. She recently co-wrote the romantic comedy Planet Single (Planeta Singli) for Gigant Films with fellow Attackships creative Sam Akina, directed by Mitja Okorn. GABRIEL BIENCZYCKI - Cinematographer, Creative Consultant
Gabriel graduated from the National Ballet School in Bytom, Poland in 1999. After working as a soloist in the U.S., Canada, and Germany, his eye for movement shifted toward photography and filmmaking. Bringing the brilliance of live movement to digital media has been a driving force in shaping his visual style and professional ethos. While his commercial focus is largely in lifestyle, music video, fashion and televlsion spots, he also works with various NGOs to publicize social justice and humanitarian efforts worldwide. Based in Los Angeles, he regularly works with clients in LA, New York and the Pacific Northwest. His past and current clients include Dell, Microsoft, The Gates Foundation, PATH, Little Films, MTV, Dance Magazine and Elle Magazine. He is the owner of Zebra Visual, a creative firm based out of Los Angeles.
MITJA OKORN - Director, Creative Consultant
Mitja Okorn is a director of numerous award winning commercials, music videos, documentaries and feature films. In 2001 his short film "Be Flexible" won top honors at the Motovun festival in Croatia. Three years later, his debut feature film "Tu Pa Tam" (Here and There) become an international hit in his home country of Slovenia. in 2007 he received the British Council's International Young Film Entrepreneur of the Year Award (IYFEY), and he was proclaimed by Screen International Magazine as one of 20 European Stars of Tomorrow. In the same year he directed the wildly popular series 39 ipol for Polish network TVN and later, the hit romantic comedy Letters to Santa (Listy do M) which, in addition to being the highest grossing Polish film of the past two decades, has won top honors at Polish film festivals across North America, including Seattle and Toronto. He has directed over 30 music videos in MTV rotation for Sony, EMI and Universal as well as commercials for such clients as Polish Telecom and Orange Mobile.
TOM SEVERINI - Director, Producer, Creative Consultant
Tom Severini graduated in 2001 with a BFA in Communications from Parsons School of Design. He trained under advertising legends Martin Solomon and Bob Gill, designing for Sony, Agency.com, Mark Ecko, HSN and Lipton. As a creative director for various agencies he has won over 40 awards including a Webby Award and a Webby Honoree. His interest in high-end fashion and creative design led Tom to co-found two companies, Batch and KARV. He is currently the owner of Slate, a creative agency based out of Naples, FL.
